Tanja Becker-Bender

Tanja Becker-Bender studied with the world’s leading quartet musicians: Wilhelm Melcher (Melos Quartett) in Stuttgart, Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartett) in Vienna, and Robert Mann (Juilliard String Quartet) in New York. Tanja Becker-Bender has won the highest distinctions in international competitions. She gives concerts as a soloist under world-famous conductors and is a regular guest at international chamber music festivals.

Her most recent CDs were released by Hyperion Records with 24 capriccios by Paganini, pieces by Schulhoff, the violin concerto by Reger, and pieces by Respighi and Bartók. The international specialized press has awarded them many distinctions. She has a special interest in performing works by contemporary composers, including world premieres. In 2006, Tanja Becker-Bender was already appointed a Professor at the University for Music Saar. Since 2009, she has been a Professor at the University for Music and Theater Hamburg.
